Walking down Memory Lane.

So I am chatting with my friend Kenny and he and I were thinking back on the cartoons we used to love as a kid.  We shared some Youtube videos of some of a our fave shoes, and that led me to He-man and She-ra…both of which I loved.  In searching for She-ra I found the “Secret of the Sword” movie on Youtube.  Not sure if any of you will get a kick out of seeing it, but here’s the first part of it.  To get to the other parts either double click on the video to get to it’s Youtube page and go from there or it should show up as a video option after part one ends.  Hope you enjoy.   I surely am.  I feel like a kid again.  :-)

Ok I’m gonna sound like a wuss saying this, but…

Ok, so I noticed it yesterday and I still can’t get used to it.  Has anyone noticed the new layout of Etsy shops?  Is anyone else a little “backwards” when they look at it?  I mean I just can’t get used to all the info being on the left.  It just seems so weird after it being on the right for so long.  Anyone else a little weirded out by that or am I on this island all alone?  Please don’t let me be on it all by myself.  The odds of me finding a Wilson are slim to nil.  :-D

Ok, my curious mind had to post and ask.  I’m off again.  Yes I am up at 4:45 in the morning.  A recent event has thrown off my sleeping in a bad way and well…yeah.  *sigh*  Later peeps.

Glidden free paint samples.

So while going through some of my pictures to try to play catch up on blog posts, I forgot about some that I had taken.  One of them was of the free Glidden paint sample I got in the mail a while back.  I don’t think the promo is still going on any more.

Thanks to Smidge Girl of Smidge House for the tip about the free samples.

So I ordered a light blue and white paint to use for a simple interior color.  Now I wish I had gone bolder, but when I picked my colors this is what I saw that would fit nicely.  But now I’m not even sure I am going to use the paint.  I might just put it up for a trade or something.  Not sure yet.

These things are neat.  They have paint brushes attached to the top and from what Smidge Girl said they cover roughly 3 feet of space.  And like she said, that’s a lot of space for us doll peeps.  I had planned to use the paint on a plastic house I want to try changing up but I had planned it to be just trim.  I still may do that.  Just not sure yet on how I want to go about customizing the house.  Meh.

As you can see the box comes in a nice gift box and it has a nice letter and some large paint chips of complimenting colors you could choose to go with the colors you picked out.

I have not tried the paint yet so I don’t know about it’s quality, but so far the I am impressed with the presentation of it alone.  When I do try out the paint I will update you all on it.  Well that’s all for this post.  I have several more coming up.  Just doing it slow since I am still “technically” on break.  It’s just hard to keep from blogging and I owe so many of you a response in comments and whatnot.  Yep, got behind again.  I’ll catch up I promise.  Ok, I’m off.  Talk to you all later.  Bye for now.

Walmart toy clearance info.

Hey guys, wanted to post this in case it was a national thing.  My local Walmarts have their last season toys on clearance. Some that may be of interest to you are the Liv dolls for 13 dollars and Moxie dolls for about the same I believe.  You can also get some Liv doll accessory packs with some shoes and wigs.  They also have some collectable Barbies on sale as well, the Bond series that were 25 dollars and the retro repos that recently came out for 30 dollars along with their stuff like the mugs and key chains that I didn’t catch the price on.  I also found an accessory pack from the Barbie Basics line for 3 dollars.  The two Walmarts I went to had different things so be sure to check all your local ones for different things.  Ok, I’m off now.  Super tired.  Talk to you all later.

G.I. Joe at Tuesday Morning.

Hey kids, so I know I am suppose to be on break from blogging, and I am technically, but I found some sales that I wanted to post about in case anyone was interested in them.

So I was looking at the Hobby Lobby site to see what was on sale since I am heading out in a bit and since I saw nothing there I decided to look at the Tuesday Morning site since some of the stuff on there is in the store.  Under their toy section I found three G.I. Joe related dolls and thought I’d pass the news on to you all.

First up is the G.I. Joe by Hasbro® Mademoiselle Marie Action Figure Set for $29.99, originally $99.99.

When I first got into doll collecting she was the first “doll” I came across online.  I wanted her so bad.  She was in a colorful plaid skirt when I saw her.  But this set is so cool with a all the clothes and a wig.  Her baby blue eye shadow has always put me off but it kind of grows on you.

Next up is the G.I. Joe by Hasbro® Miss Fear Action Figure Set for $29.99, originally $99.99.

Her’s is actually the first one I saw on the website before the other two.  I love her look. Very sexy but powerful.  She comes with several outfits and weapons.  I don’t like her as much as Mademoiselle Marie, but she’s a close second.

Finally we have the G.I. Joe by Hasbro® Enemy Ace Action Figure Set for $49.99, originally $199.99.

Not a big fan of this set, but it’s nice you got several outfits, weapons, and a dog with him.  I don’t see why this would give him double the price honestly, but it is what it is.

Actually, speaking of price, I think their “original” prices are kind of crazy.  I know, they are “collector”, but wow!  I guess it would make more sense to spend that kind of money on these dolls with several outfits than on one collector Barbie with usually only one outfit and the body cannot be moved outside of up and down arm motions.  I’m not sure if the arms go out on the Silkies since they are suppose to be like early Barbies.  Someone who has some, could you let me know about that?  But yeah, there you have it folks.  Pounce while the pouncing is good.  I would personally want both females, but if I could only have one then it would be Mademoiselle Marie hands down.  Might still get her…might not.  LOL!  Ok, that’s all for today.  I’m off.  I have tons of posts to make about stuff I’ve been doing and whatnot, but I really do need to keep focus on some things now.  Give me another couple of days and I will be back with posts galore.  Until then, be good.  Bye for now.  :-)

Thin as watered down acrylic paint.

So what’s that title all about?  It’s about me.  It’s what I am doing to myself.  I am just thinning myself out big time.  I want to do it all and really, do I have time to do it?  No!  There are only so many hours in a day!  But it seems I feel I can take it all on, but it gets me frustrated and in the end nothing gets done at all.  *sigh*

So where is all this coming from?  Ok, so my “time capsule”, I believe I mentioned it, that I learned from it I wasn’t changed much from last year, which irritates the poo out of me.  And while I tried to further myself, I believe in the process I thinned myself out online and in real life.  I’m all over the place in my search to find my niche in life and it’s so irritating.  I realize that I need to gather my eggs back and though I don’t want to put them all in one basket I don’t need to put each individual one in it’s own basket.  So that’s what I plan to work on for the next two weeks or so.  Getting my eggs back from the many baskets out there and just having them in 3-5 baskets instead.  I think that’s part of the reason why I am so exhausted here lately.  Just trying to do too much and not doing anything at all in the end.

More stuff to come from the Mouse soon.  If you don’t hear from me for a week or two, I’m still alive, just in the “mouse house” cleaning it up some.  I hope to come back with a whole new me and a bunch of new things to talk about.  Until then be good kids.  ;-)  Bye for now.

Just opened my time capsule.

Reading a letter from myself from over a year ago just freaked me the hell out.  So many things the me of 2009 wanted to happen.  So many things the me of 2010 didn’t make happen.  I am glad I did this experiment.  I think I am going to make it a yearly thing.  I was going to put everything back in for 3 years but I think I want to do it for a year again.  Not sure.  Will think about it some.  It’s weird how I didn’t want the letter to end.  I wanted to keep this connection to my then 30 year old self who was worried about her upcoming 31st birthday.  She had so many questions and the 32 year old self of now has no answers for her.  I hope to make my 33 year self much happier.  So I think I seal the tin again for another year and then see where I want to go with it.  I’ll take some pictures later of some of the items in the box.  I need to collect some new stuff so I can seal it back up tomorrow for another 365 days.  Hummm…just such a weird experience.  Well, gotta return to my guests.  Talk to you all later on.  Bye for now.

Yo has 32 anos today peeps, on 8-9-10!!!

Yes, it is just after midnight Monday morning of August 9th, and I’m smiling.  Why am I smiling?  Because it’s my birthday.  Now I have no earthly idea why this is making me smile since most of my birthdays make me sad but this one makes me happy.  I don’t know, I think it has something to do with the fact that I’m 32.  I just feel 32 has a nice mature sound to it.  Granted…I do still play with dolls, but it does make me feel a little more solid to have made it to another year, and to be hoping I have many more ahead of me.

I’m having two friends over today to help me celebrate and I’m so looking forward to hanging with them.  Hi Sam and Kenny!!!  I’m also excited because I will be opening my time capsule I made last year after reading one of John’s blog entries.  Great idea John, and can’t wait to open it since I forgot so much of what was in there.  LOL!  I plan to take out some things and replace them with other things and then seal it back up for another 3 years.  I think by 35 I should have changed a lot and have more fun looking back on the items I placed in there.  I’m not sure if I will share all the contents here, but I will try to share a little something.

So yeah…I’m old.  Woo hoo!!!  Ok, ok!  I can already hear several of you yelling I’m not old.  I just feel it, but hopefully with this new year things will change.  Oh yeah, I am considering this my new year’s day since I hate the actual one.  So Happy New Year to me!!!  And here’s to an awesome 365 days.  I hope I will be able to make 32 as interesting and educational as 31 one was.  :-)  Ok, off to clean some and then hit the hay.  Hopefully will post some later but if I don’t get a chance to I will post some time this week.  Bye for now kids.  Be good.  :-)

Am I a little crazy to want…

A doll of the Monster High Head Mistress?  And yes I want to be able to take her head off.  What?  I can’t be alone in this.  *Listens to crickets.*  Nevermind.

On a sane note, I finally was able to sew the darn dress I had been trying to sew for weeks now.  I got the pattern printed right, I used the right fabric, I used a technique to make the pattern work for me, I added snaps and buttons and giggled with delight when I finished one then another one.  Then I realized…I don’t really like the dress design and don’t see myself making any like those in the future.  I want to alter the pattern, make it my own, and make it something I’d like better.  *sigh*  Well, at least I can say I sewed it finally.  Pictures of the two I did sew coming soon along with a doll review…I haven’t even opened her yet and I have had her for almost a week now.  Just wanted to do box opening pics for the review.  Coming soon I swear it.  Off to bed now so I can get up early for some sewing.

Ok, a weird thought just hit me.  We are getting ready for a tax free weekend here.  I am wondering if taxes are off on fabric and sewing supplies.  I mean some people sew their kids clothing, and sewing supplies are needed for classes as well.  Hummm, I may have to ask this weekend.  Ok, seriously off now.  Hope you all are well.  Bye for now.

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits!!!

Hey all, just wanted to let you know I am still here, just doing some stuff in the background right now and not having time to sit down for big blog posts.  I haven’t done much online doll related and I have so much to catch up on, but that will have to wait a least another week or so.  I will be checking in soon everyone.  Hope you are all well.  Well, I am off to bed now, I have to get up early and quickly clean house for company coming over.  Bye until next time and be good.  :-)
